FB Status: I typed "figuratively" into Google and got ads for Bibles...at least Google gets it
Mom: ok where is the dislike button on this comment
Me: Right around the same spot as the word "literal" in regards to the O.T.

Mom: Just remember 1 thing B**** while you are trying to figure out truth...eternity is at stake and is it worth the risk...just a thought cause none of us are promised tomorrow and I'd hate to think I'd have to spend eternity without you...love you to the moon and back.Me: Eternity is at stake. But no one is sure what eternity is. It's not like I'm refuting the Bible. When I said figuratively, I meant just that. The book was not meant to be taken as the literal word of god but rather a guide book to life. If you are a good person and don't worship the devil and admit that there is a higher being in control...why can't you go to heaven? Why is it that you must commit yourself to an 'idol'? Does the Bible not say that you shall not worship idols?
Mom: Ok I am just wondering how does one gauge what god would say is the number that being good enough would get you in to heaven?
Me: Ok but it is alright to accept Jesus into your heart and yet continue to do whatever you want. Shoot you can kill a man (a mortal sin) and still go to Heaven? as long as you got Jesus in your heart! Cain killed abel. Sacrifice was HUGE back then and yet it was an unforgivable sin according to the good book. So how good do you have to be to get into heaven?
Mom: Good discussion...lets pick up on Sunday and finish k? I'm working
Me: Me too :) Have a wonderful Thirsty Thursday! Love you to the outer limits of the universe and back.
I like the idea. But, the blanket has holes. As does everything.
